48V 1000W E-Bike Update 4. New Lithium Battery, New Headlight, New Throttle.

I finally got my Lifepo4 battery in!!! I ordered it Express Mail about 8 weeks ago. They put it on a boat, and i had to wait 2 months! At least they acknowledged their mistake, and gave me a partial refund. The battery gives me an extra 2 MPH on the top end, and it now accelerates quicker. The bike is also 30 full pounds lighter than it was with the SLA!!! The old Longma cheap throttle that came with the kit broke one day while i was riding to work, so i had to order another one. I got a better model with voltage indicator. This throttle has a lot smoother pull, and it has better grips. This is a better throttle, and i’m happy with it, even though the middle voltage indicator light is out. The new 48V headlight is a piece of crap. It didnt work at first, and the key switch was falling out. I had to open it up, and re-solder some wires, and super glue the key switch in place. After i put it all back together, it worked till i hit my first bumpy road, and now only one side works. It comes with a horn, but unfortunately, its a very quiet horn. I got a dc-dc converter so i can install 12v lights and horns in the future. It’s not installed yet.

@rocbola That’s great to hear! Good luck with your e-bike and chargers!

@staver76 ?Thanks for commenting. The battery seems pretty damn sweet, and i have seen many people online who have used v-power for years with no issue. It’s only the charger that broke. I heard back from them, and they offered to send a free replacement, i just have to pay the shipping. I also ordered a new 5 amp lifepo4 charger which is already on the way. It seems that V-power is a reputable company, and despite a few mistakes, they make up for it with good customer service.

@rocbola Sorry to hear that. And it was a V-power battery too, they seemed very promising. The only 60 volt battery I could find and pretty reliable charging, or so it seems.

I have been thinking of doing the same thing you have done using LiPos and outrunner motors from China. One question I have is how does your rubber wheel work when the tire gets wet, also how fast and how far can you go with the 2200 Mah battery? Thanks

    y didnt you talk?

  21. DKJones96 says:

@iulian207 That relies on a variable resistor input, which the variable speed drill switch has…

  22. mccunecp says:

thats pretty cool if they probably dont know if you hit a brake there is a shurt off sometimes in the break for some esc for electric bikes were it kills the motor so you can come to a safe stop, and will resume after you let off. so for the ones that know that is a cool project and is way cool.

How many KV is the motor?
