I know the motor uses DC current to propel the bike normally. Many DC motors are capable of producing electricity when they are turned.

The end goal of this question is to find out if a few off-road lights wired in series could be powered by the hub from basic riding.

gernerate it?
no they USE it
how could they generate it too?

you mean mean ‘does it generate electricity during braking?’

no it doesn;t look like it does that either

some do but they are heavier and more expensive and the battery has to be set up to use it for charging which is also more $ $ $ $

it;s a whole system

this is just a hub motor

usually the hub will generate, but it is the controllers job to pass the juice to the batteries when not accelerating.
